Marketing Agency for Entrepreneurs
Crafted is built by people who started one.
We’ve launched DTC food brands, music platforms, mobile apps, and footwear companies — most as our own clients before they hired us back. Spot & Tango (UnKibble), Sir Bananas, MusicFolio, Solos, Pretty Litter, Aaptiv, Terrafugia, and Influenster are part of our practice. Each one came to us at the moment a brand decision was about to determine whether the next round, the next launch, or the next 10,000 customers would actually happen.
Startups don’t have time for the agency that takes six weeks to schedule the first call. They don’t have budget for the agency that bills six figures before anything ships. And they don’t have margin for the agency that hands off a logo, a deck, and a Wix site. We built the practice for the version of the startup that needs all of it — brand, product, and the team to ship — without three vendors and a project manager.
What We Do for Startups
Brand, product, and growth — under one roof
A startup engagement with Crafted is full-service from MVP through scale. We design the brand, build the product, ship the marketing site, and run the launch — or any subset of that, depending on what your team already owns.
Brand Strategy & Identity
Positioning, naming, mark, type, voice, and the founding-team story that survives the deck and the homepage.
Learn MoreProduct UX & Design
Wireframes, prototypes, design systems, and the interface decisions that turn a product idea into something a user actually wants to use twice.
Learn MoreWeb Design & Development
Marketing sites, ecommerce, mobile-first, accessible. Built on the platform that fits the team and budget, not the agency.
Learn MoreMobile App Design & Development
iOS, Android, and React Native apps. From MVP through scale, handed over in a state where a real product team can own it.
Learn MoreBrand Campaigns & Content
Launch campaigns, video, photography, and the editorial systems that compound past the first sprint.
Learn MoreGrowth & Performance Marketing
Landing pages, paid acquisition, lifecycle email, and the conversion mechanics that turn a launch into a business.
Learn MoreStartup Categories We Know
The corners of the startup market where we’ve compounded
Two decades in, our startup work clusters in a tight set of sub-categories — the places where brand and product are doing real commercial lifting, not decorating a pitch deck.
- DTC consumer goods — Spot & Tango (UnKibble), Sir Bananas, Pretty Litter, and The Lost Sense (a Brooklyn chocolatier) are part of our practice. Brand, packaging, ecommerce, and the launch campaign that turns the first 10,000 customers into a category position.
- Mobile apps & SaaS platforms — Aaptiv, MusicFolio, Office Hours, Float, Playdate, and One Paper Lane. Product UX, brand, and the marketing site that earns the install or the demo request.
- Marketplaces & content platforms — Influenster and AppleInsider. Brand and architecture decisions that scale from launch through millions of monthly users.
- Hardware & transportation — Solos (footwear), Terrafugia (eVTOL aviation), Clemente Sports, and DriveOn. Brand systems for ambitious physical-product startups where the product story has to do as much work as the engineering.
- Fintech & financial products — Pyle. Brand and product design for financial tools where trust signals matter as much as the UX.
- Cause-driven & social-impact startups — American Women’s Party and Stories For Good. Brand work where the mission is the moat and the audience is rallying around something they actually care about.
Why Crafted
Startups deserve more than a generalist agency that treats your launch as a portfolio piece.
Most startups start with the cheapest path — a freelance designer for the logo, a Webflow template for the marketing site, an offshore dev shop for the app. A lot of those startups have hired us back twelve to eighteen months later to do the work properly, after the brand stopped scaling, the product had to be rewritten, or the funding round depended on a launch the original team couldn’t ship.
The cheap option gets you a logo and a homepage. No documented brand, no design system, no product architecture that survives a real engineering team, no launch infrastructure that actually converts. When the second product ships, the second market opens, or the Series B deck needs to look like the company is already a category leader, the cheap option doesn’t have an answer.
A real partnership with Crafted gives you the system. The brand is documented. The product is built on patterns the next ten engineers can read. The marketing site, the launch campaign, and the lifecycle email all read as one company. When the round closes and the team triples, the work compounds instead of getting rebuilt.
Startups that want to look like a startup can probably skip this conversation. Startups that want to be confused for the category leader on day one generally end up working with the agency that takes the brand and the product as seriously as the technical co-founder does.

What Our Startup Clients are Saying
Startup Service Process
Fun, Agile, and Knowledgable
What else would you ask for? We understand the process of starting your own company can be a bit overwhelming. Let us guide you through the process, help you make the right decisions that set the right foundation, that helps you bring your product, service to life.
1. Discovery
The first step in the startup process is always learning and understanding your new venture. We’ll take the necessary steps to fully understand your goals, target your market and desired outcomes. At this point, we’ve already fallen in love with your idea and we see ourselves as a dedicated partner, diligently working towards bringing your idea to life.
2. Branding & Strategy
Once we’ve learned all there is to know, we’ll help you create your image. Every product and platform needs a personality and we know just how to express it for you. Determining the right audience, voice, visual aesthetics and general tone, we’ll cover all aspects of your branding needs from digital, print, all the way to some killer schwagg.
3. Information Architecture
Now that things are really beginning to take shape, it’s time to devise a go-to-market plan. As we nail down the right channels and devices for your brand, we’ll begin to architect functionality, platform specifics and brand awareness opportunities.
4. Design & Art Direction
Making your idea as beautiful as possible is our passion. We don’t call ourselves Crafted for nothing. We get our creative juices flowing through some nifty user experience wireframes, detailing the structure of the entire flow. Everything we design is completely responsive and fit for all sizes and shaped screens. Our design process is a flexible one. We’ll review all steps of the process with you and refine or revise until we have your approval.
5. Prototyping
Before we begin coding our butts off, we like to make a beta of your experience by leveraging prototyping platforms that allow us to put the user experience to the ultimate test. Placing your working design demo in the hands of your sample audience gives us valuable insight on how things are panning out.
6. Technology
After your spectacular design is ready, it’s time to develop it. We always let the design do the talking; it’s not really our thing to allow a template to give us barking orders. With that said, we build around our creativity, establishing a structure that takes on the look and feel of our designs, without compromising the initial vision we established together.
7. Launch
3, 2, 1, lift off. Once everyone is thrilled with the outcome and ready to share what we’ve created together, we’ll show it to the world. Throughout this phase, we’ll stick with you, helping you along the way to make sure everything is running well on all cylinders.
8. Marketing
Now that we’ve launched, it’s time to get the word out there. A smart, strategic media plan goes a long way. From SEO to social media, we’ll attack the market where it’s most relevant to your brand as we closely monitor the results of the campaign.

FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you help with the launch — not just the brand and the site?
Yes. Launch campaigns are one of the most common reasons startups hire us. We’ve built campaigns that combine brand positioning, paid media, content, lifecycle email, and conversion-optimized landing pages — the mechanics that turn launch buzz into a customer base instead of a press cycle.
Do you build the product, or just the brand?
Both. About half our startup engagements include actual product work — UX, design systems, web applications, and mobile apps. We hand off code in a state where a real product team can own it: documented, tested, and built on patterns the next engineer hire can read.
Do you take equity or work for credit?
No. Every engagement is paid. We’ve been around long enough to know that “we’ll pay you in equity” conversations cost both sides more than they save. If budget is the constraint, we’ll scope a smaller piece of work — not pretend the budget isn’t the constraint.
How early can we engage Crafted — pre-seed, seed, or only after we’ve raised?
All three. We’ve worked with founders before the first investor check, with seed-stage teams refining brand and product before launch, and with Series A and later companies that need a real agency partner to scale the work the original team can’t. Pre-seed engagements tend to be tighter scopes (brand identity, an MVP marketing site, a pitch-ready landing page); funded engagements typically include the full brand-product-launch arc.
How fast can you actually ship?
A focused brand-identity engagement runs four to six weeks. A brand-plus-marketing-site runs eight to ten. A full brand-product-launch arc with a marketing site and an MVP app runs twelve to sixteen weeks from kickoff to launch. Faster than that and you’re cutting strategy. Slower and you’re paying for committee.
What does a startup engagement typically cost?
Focused projects (a brand identity, a launch site, an MVP design system) usually start in the $25,000–$60,000 range. Full brand-and-build engagements with product design, web, app, and launch creative run $100,000+ depending on scope and timeline. We don’t do hourly — every project gets a fixed scope and a fixed number after the first conversation.
What startup clients have you worked with that I might know?
Spot & Tango (UnKibble), Sir Bananas, MusicFolio, Solos, Pretty Litter, Aaptiv, Terrafugia, Influenster, Pyle, Playdate, Office Hours, AppleInsider, Freshneck, and a handful of others appear in the work grid above. We work with several other startups under NDA — happy to share specific case studies relevant to your category in a first conversation.
