Industry Leader

Pet and Animal Digital Agency Partner

Crafted partners with pet and animal brands that take the work seriously. Spot & Tango (Now This, Meet UnKibble), Halo by Cesar Millan (the smartest, safest wireless dog collar), Pretty Litter (Cat Parents campaign), and Playdate (Interactive Pet App) are part of our pet practice. Each one needed more than a logo refresh — they needed a complete digital strategy and the team to execute it.

Why Pet Brands Choose Crafted

A pet brand is a consumer brand with one extra ingredient: love.

The pet industry is a $150 billion category and one of the fastest-growing consumer segments on earth. Pet parents shop with their hearts, share with their phones, and judge a brand in three seconds based on how the packaging feels in their hand and how the website loads in their browser. We’ve spent a decade building pet brands that earn that judgement — from DTC startups disrupting the kibble aisle to legacy companies modernizing for a new generation of buyers.

What We Do for Pet Brands

Branding, web development, content, and the full marketing stack

A pet engagement with Crafted is full-service. We design the brand, build the website, produce the content, and run the marketing — or any subset of that, depending on what your team already owns. Pet brands typically work with us on:

Brand Strategy & Identity

Positioning, naming, logo, packaging direction, and the visual system that makes a kibble bag stand out on a crowded shelf or a vet clinic stand out on a crowded block.

Website Design and Development

Conversion-tuned ecommerce, subscription flows, content sites, and lead-gen landing pages. We build on Shopify, WordPress, and headless stacks depending on what fits the business.

Content & Campaign Production

Product photography, video, lifestyle shoots, and the editorial voice that makes a pet brand feel like a community, not a catalog.

Digital Marketing & Growth

SEO, paid media, email, retention, and the analytics setup to know which channel is actually moving the needle.

Social & Influencer Strategy

The channel where pet brands are made or broken. We build the playbook, find the talent, and produce the content.

Packaging & Retail Design

For the brands that live on shelf as well as on screen. Trade dress, dieline production, and shelf-back continuity with the digital experience.

Pet Categories We Know

The corners of the pet industry where we’ve compounded

A decade in, our pet work clusters in a tight set of sub-categories. The places where brand and digital are doing the commercial lifting — not just decorating a Shopify theme.

  • DTC pet food & nutrition — subscription kibble, fresh food, treats, supplements. Spot & Tango is part of our practice. Subscription mechanics, repeat purchase optimization, and the brand voice that earns the second order.
  • Pet health & wellness products — litter, supplements, dental, grooming. Pretty Litter is part of our practice. Category-creating brands where the science needs to be communicated as clearly as the lifestyle.
  • Connected pet tech & wearables — collars, trackers, training devices, apps. Halo by Cesar Millan and Playdate are part of our practice. Brands where the hardware story has to translate to a buy-now CTA without losing the credibility.
  • Pet services & care — veterinary practices, grooming, boarding, training, daycare. Local services where trust on first impression decides whether the appointment gets booked.
  • Animal welfare & nonprofits — rescues, sanctuaries, animal-rights organizations. Brand voice that honors the mission while still raising money.
  • Equestrian, livestock & specialty animal — the categories outside the dog-and-cat mainstream where audience knowledge is hard to fake.

Why Crafted

Pet brands deserve more than a freelancer marketplace.

Most early-stage pet brands start with the cheapest path — a friend who designs, a Shopify theme, a freelance copywriter pulled from Upwork. We’ve been hired three years later by every one of those brands to do the work properly. Here’s the difference.

The cheap option gives you a Shopify storefront and nothing else. No brand strategy, no system, no editorial voice, no plan for what happens when growth stalls and you need a second product line, a wholesale channel, or a rebrand for a Series A.

A real partnership with Crafted gives you a system. The brand is documented. The website is built to scale past the first ten thousand orders. The content has a voice your next freelance copywriter can match. When you launch product number two, you don’t start over — you extend.

Pet brands that want to be acquired in three years can probably skip this conversation. Pet brands that want to be category leaders in ten generally end up working with an agency that takes the brand as seriously as they do. The only question is whether you start now or after you’ve spent two years competing with better-built competitors.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you build our Shopify store, or do we need a separate developer?

We build it. Crafted has a full development team that ships on Shopify, WordPress, and headless stacks. The brand team and the dev team work on the same engagement, which is why our launches don’t fall apart in the handoff between “design done” and “site live.”

Can you help us launch a new pet product on retail shelves?

Yes. Several Crafted-branded pet products live on Petco, Chewy, Whole Foods, and independent retailer shelves alongside their DTC channel. We handle packaging design, dieline production, and the brand continuity between online experience and shelf presence.

Do you do influencer and social strategy too?

Yes — for pet brands, social is often where the brand is actually built. We run the strategy, produce the content, and connect brands with the talent. Some clients hire us to build the brand and run the social channel for the first six months while their internal team comes up to speed.

Do you only work with DTC pet food brands?

No. Pet food is a big part of the practice, but our pet work also includes pet tech and wearables, supplements and wellness, veterinary and grooming services, animal welfare nonprofits, and specialty animal categories like equestrian. The common thread is brands where the work is the moat.

Do you work with veterinary practices and pet care services, or only product brands?

Both. About a third of our pet work is local and regional service brands — veterinary clinics, grooming, daycare, training. The strategy and the deliverables look different from a DTC engagement, but the discipline is the same.

How big does our pet brand have to be to work with Crafted?

Our pet engagements typically start in the $25,000–$50,000 range for a focused project (a brand refresh, a new website, a campaign launch) and scale up from there for full brand-and-build engagements. We don’t do hourly — every project gets a fixed scope and a fixed number after the first conversation.

How long does a pet brand engagement take?

A focused brand-and-website engagement runs eight to twelve weeks. A full brand-and-build with packaging, photography, and launch campaign runs four to six months. Faster than that and you’re cutting strategy. Slower and you’re paying for committee.

What pet brands have you worked with that I might know?

Spot & Tango, Halo by Cesar Millan, Pretty Litter, and Playdate are visible in the work above. We work with several other pet brands under NDA — we’re happy to share specific case studies relevant to your category in a first conversation.
